ORICO M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure

A USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps) external enclosure for M.2 NVMe SSDs, built around an aluminum alloy shell with an exposed fin design that acts as a passive heatsink — paired with an internal silicone thermal pad to pull heat off the drive during sustained transfers, so performance holds up better on long copies than a plain plastic enclosure.

It supports 2230/2242/2260/2280 length M.2 NVMe (PCIe) SSDs up to 8TB. Important: this enclosure only works with NVMe/PCIe M.2 SSDs — it does not support SATA M.2 SSDs, Toshiba SSDs, or the 12+16-pin M.2 SSDs used in 2013–2017 MacBooks. Check your drive's interface before buying if you're repurposing an old SSD.

UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) support means the enclosure can push close to the real USB 3.1 Gen 2 ceiling instead of bottlenecking on older USB Mass Storage overhead, so a fast NVMe drive isn't held back as much by the external connection. It ships with both a USB-C-to-USB-C and a USB-C-to-USB-A cable, so it plugs directly into modern USB-C laptops/phones or older USB-A ports without needing a separate adapter.

At 108 x 30 x 14 mm, it's small and light enough to carry in a laptop bag, and it works across Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android devices with a compatible USB port — useful for turning a spare NVMe drive into a fast portable backup/scratch disk, or for cloning/booting from an old laptop's original SSD after an upgrade.
