How to Set the Correct Time and Date on Windows 10

This tutorial takes about 1 minute to complete.

Step 1: Open Time Settings

Right-click the system clock in the bottom-right corner of your taskbar and select Adjust Date and Time. This action opens the dedicated configuration panel for managing your system's date and time. Right-clicking the Windows 10 taskbar clock and selecting Adjust date/time from the context menu

Step 2: Verify Current Display

Review the currently displayed date and time to confirm it does not match your actual local time or date. Note the specific discrepancy, such as an incorrect day or hour offset.

Step 3: Select Correct Time Zone

Navigate to the Time zone settings and select the regional time zone that matches your physical location. Choose the correct major region, such as the Hong Kong Beijing time zone, if your exact city is not listed. Step 4: Force Time Synchronization

Click the Sync Now button to force Windows to update your system clock and ensure it is up to date. This action immediately aligns your displayed time with the correct local standard.

Step 5: Confirm Updated Time

Close the Settings window and verify that the taskbar clock now displays the accurate local time and correct calendar date.
